jump! | jacksonville toddler and maternity photographer
I figured I'd better get to blogging this session since baby is now here and I'm photographing her this weekend! Two-year-olds are so much fun to photograph because there's really no choice but to follow their lead and play! We ran in circles, took a few snack breaks, and were able to capture a lot of sweet moments to remember this time of waiting for the newest family member. Sweet little M was full of energy, and her favorite thing to do these days, like many toddlers, is jump! I'm excited to see in a couple days how she likes being a big sister! I loved that her parents were waiting to be surprised with the gender of the baby, so it was fun to speculate and talk about name possibilities. The anticipation of pregnancy is so sweet, and I'm happy to have captured the memory of this special family time.
Before having kids, I never really thought about birth order, but there are definitely pros and cons of being the first born child. I'm definitely stricter with my oldest, and for a long time she didn't have a playmate at home. But I think this portrait session captures some of the advantages of being first!
With the arrival of their new baby just around the corner, they wanted to document their life as a family of three. Until I had my own kids, I never thought about the fact that I had been an only child (and had all my parents' attention!) for my first two-and-a-half years. It seems like my little brother was always in our family. So, maybe one day little P will watch this video and see what his life was like pre-baby-brother.

in-home maternity | jacksonville photographer
I've had this blog post half written for a while, but when baby arrived last week, I realized I needed to hurry up and publish it. We're taking the little guy's newborn photos this week!
I love to shoot outside with gorgeous natural light, but sometimes the weather forces us inside. The last couple of baby sessions took place inside my clients' homes, and both worked out perfectly with pretty window light. For this maternity session with my friend Audra (you may recognize her from previous posts!), we had the front door open for extra light and kept joking about the mailman arriving soon (mama was in a fairly revealing pose/outfit). Right after we moved back to the bedroom for a different look, we heard the mail drop into the box. Just missed him! Here are a few of my favorite shots.

she's been practicing! | jacksonville baby photographer
I just had to post this sweet shot of 3-month-old C working on her tummy time. I think she had been practicing for picture day!

sparkle in san marco | jacksonville family photos
Gosh, I don't even know where to begin on this session with my dear friends, Audra and Patrick. We packed so much into our time together--couples shots, some maternity, family photos, and even a few for this year's Christmas card! This park in San Marco is one of my absolute favorite locations. We had our own family photos taken here when my older daughter was four months old. I thought it was pretty in the morning, but the sparkly light in the evening is magical!
For now, I'll share some of my favorites of just A and P. At this point, their three-year-old was sound asleep in car.:) This family inspires me to step up my fashion game. Just wait till you see the shots of little P.

sunrise maternity session at jacksonville beach pier
A few weeks ago, I got up super early to meet this sweet family of three (for now!) at the beach for some photos. It was so worth getting up early because the light was gorgeous (and I was able to stop at my favorite bagel place on the way home!). I couldn't believe how many people had the same idea we did. There were more than a few early risers in the water and on the sand! Dad is a surfer, so we got some fun shots with his board. They are so excited about their new baby, who will be here soon! They're naming him after the ocean, so I bet he'll grow up to love the beach just like his big brother!
