siblings session | jacksonville beach photographer
It's time to update the blog with the "What I Did This Summer" report! There were oh-so-many wonderful sessions with fun families, and this one is from back in May. The dad called me and explained that his oldest daughter was graduating from high school and moving overseas for college and he wanted some photos of everyone together before she was gone. It was so neat to hear how excited R was for her education and career plans--studying multiple languages and becoming an interpreter. Since languages and traveling are two of my passions, I identified with her and got excited, too! It was also a nice change of pace to work with a large group of older (ages 13 to 19) siblings. I just loved the way they interacted and how you could sense the relationships between them as deep and unique. They had fun together that night and even more fun when Dad joined us!

on campus at UNF
Every morning as I walk across campus to teach, I think how nice it would be to have UNF's landscaping and maintenance crew work on my own yard! They are constantly busy with watering, planting, weed pulling, and trimming, but it pays off. There's always something in bloom, and even right now when it's so hot, everything looks lush and healthy, not parched, like my plants! The campus made a gorgeous backdrop for my session with this UNF international student. (She's in my class.:) Did you know I teach English as a Second Language? I love it.) Isn't she beautiful?

senior shoot at jacksonville's memorial park
Back in February I had the chance to photograph this beautiful high school senior. She’s also a photographer, so it was fun to talk about what we like to shoot. Our conversation inspired me to take my camera out at night (her favorite time to shoot) on our trip to France to get some great shots of the lights. Just like in France, I loved capturing the architectural details at Memorial Park in Jacksonville’s Riverside. You may have noticed some of favorite shots from this session in my banner above.
